Born and raised in Iowa, this is also where I got my start cooking at the age of 15. At the age of 20 I decided to go to culinary school. I attended Le Cordon Bleu in Minnesota, and then finished with an internship at Hurley’s restaurant in Yountville, CA. After graduating culinary school I remained in the Napa Valley for the next ten years, working at many of the resorts and restaurants in the valley during that time, including Calistoga Ranch, Angele, Etoile and Il Posto Trattoria. After 10 years of working in the restaurant industry, I left to combine two passions of mine, gardening and cooking. I now run a small organic farm in Sonoma, CA, and offer private Chef luncheons and dinners onsite for my own business, Chef’s Farm & Garden. I bring Seasonal meals to my guest using organic, locally grown produce. I enjoy this because it brings us back to an age of growing our own food while moving us forward towards a more healthy, sustainable lifestyle.

I joined Leonard Wine Company as their Winery Chef as the owners and I share a similar passion to achieve authentic food & wine pairings; I execute Winemaker Dinners with the winery for any customer and a Seasonal Recipe Book which is released solely to members of The Wine Club during each club shipment. The winery farms concentrated fruit and picks early to produce structured wines full of acid; we call these ‘food wines’. Our goal is to balance food and wine together. We do this by looking at all the aromatic notes, flavors, and structures of the food and wine independently, ultimately finding synergies.

As a benefit to members of The Wine Club, I create a Seasonal Recipe Book delivering original recipes that pair to each bottle of vineyard designate wine in your shipment so that you can experience the balance found in a professional food & wine pairing, in your own home. To experience a full service, multi-course food & wine pairing with your friends or families, please join the Winemaker and myself for a Winemaker Dinner on my Sonoma farm & garden.  We are also available to travel and offer our Winemaker Dinners at your own residence.  All Winemaker Dinners require a minimum of 8 guests.  We look forward to entertaining you!
